    Brief Introduction to the Interface

    1.Main Interface

    The displayed status information of dial-up connections is showed as follows:



    Network Access Service

    1.Wireless Broadband (WLAN) Access
    1) Click the “Connect” button corresponding to WLAN on the main interface, and access the network after passing authentication. If you haven’t set a WLAN account, please follow the instruction, enter a WLAN account and password, select the province you belong to, and click “Save and Connect”. If the connection failed, you may try other ways of wireless broadband to make a dial-up access.
    2) During the process of connection, you can click “Cancel” to cancel this connection.
    3) If you want to disconnect, please go back to the main interface of dial-up access or click “Disconnect” on the interface of “Network Status”.
    2.Wireless Broadband (3G) Access
    1) Click the “Connect” button corresponding to 3G on the main interface, and the access will be done after successfully connected to 3G network. If the connection failed, you may try other ways of wireless broadband to make a dial-up access.
    2) After connected to 3G network, if the signal is too weak, the access will be automatically and seamlessly switched to 1X network, with which you can continue using Internet services.
    3) During the process of connection, you can click “Cancel” to cancel this connection.
    4) If you want to disconnect, please go back to the main interface of dial-up access or click “Disconnect” on the interface of “Network Status”.

    3.Wireless Broadband (1X) Access
    1) Click the “Connect” button corresponding to 1X on the main interface, and the access will be done after successfully connected to 1X network. If the connection failed, you may try other ways of wireless broadband to make a dial-up access.
    2) During the process of connection, you can click “Cancel” to cancel this connection.
    3) If you want to disconnect, please go back to the main interface of dial-up access or click “Disconnect” on the interface of “Network Status”.
    Note: The initial access number, username and password of “E-surfing” (including wireless broadband 1X and 3G) have already been set in the client, and there is no need to reset. Access number: #777; username: ctnet@mycdma.cn; and password: vnet.mobi.


    Menu Functions

    1.“Settings”
      “Settings” options include Customized Setting, WLAN Account Setting, and Internet Card Driver Management, UIM Card Management, and PIN Code Management.
    1) Network Account Setting
    Click “Settings”, then “Network Account Setting” to set your accounts and passwords for Wireless Broadband (WLAN) and 1X/3G separately.
    2) Customized Setting
    It includes “Start-up Setting”, “automatic connection” and “quit-confirm Setting”
    a) Start-up Setting
    Click “Settings”, select “Customized Setting>Start-up Setting”, and open the window of “Start-up Setting”.
    If you select “Automatically run at system start-up” and press “Confirm”, the client will be automatically launched at system start-up next time.
    b) automatic connection
    Click “setting”, select “Customized Setting” >“automatic connection”, and open the window of “automatic connection” setting.
    Please select the sequence of automatic connection according to your personal demand. After the setting complete, it will dial up to access internet with the set sequence when you click “automatic connection” button in the main interface next time.
    c) quit-confirm Setting
    Click “setting”, select “Customized Setting” >“quit-confirm Setting”, and open the window of “quit-confirm” setting.
    Please select operation according to your personal demand when click button . When you check the "Save the Settings”, the client will carry out correspondent operation. If you uncheck, and click button , it will quit the window of confirmation.
    3) Internet card Driver Management
    a) Delete Internet card Driver
    Delete the installed drivers.
    b) Download Internet card Driver
    Click “Download Internet card Driver” to get the list of drivers, and then choose the applicable one (according to its manufacturer and type) to download and install.
    When you click “Download”, you can define the save path first, and then download the selected driver from the Internet to a local path. It will install automatically.
    If you click “Download and Install”, the system will automatically download the driver, save it in the designated path and start installation.
    4) UIM Card Management
    Click “setting”, select “UIM Card Management” >upgrade UIM Card. After the upgrading, the latest frequency information will be added and perfect domestic and international roaming services will be provided continuously for you.
    5) PIN Code Management PIN code can prevent your WLAN (1X) and WLAN (3G) service from illegal uses. You can change your PIN code, or enable PIN code protection in the settings.
    a) Enable/disable PIN code protection
    If PIN code protection is enabled, your PIN code needs to be verified when the wireless broadband client is launched next time.
    b) Change PIN code
    Click “Settings”, select“PIN Code Management >Change PIN Code”, and then input the current PIN code and a new one. At last, click “Confirm” to finish.
    Note:
    The length of PIN code is required to be of 4-8-digits.
    c) Verify PIN code
    After the PIN code protection is enabled, you need to enter the correct PIN code to use the Internet services and applications of Wireless Broadband (1X) or Wireless Broadband (3G).
    Note:
    ·The system will remind you of the remaining times for entering PIN code. If the number of consecutive wrong inputs exceeds that allowed, your UIM card will be locked. If so, you have to use PUK code to unlock the card, otherwise you can't execute any operations related to UIM card.
    ·You still can dial emergency numbers if your UIM card is locked.
    d) Use PUK code to unlock UIM card
    If your UIM card is locked, the dialog box of "Use PUK to Unlock" will pop out after you launch China Telecom's Wireless Broadband Client.
    Enter the correct PUK code.
    Enter a new PIN code.
    Click “Confirm” to finish.
    Note:
    ·The system will remind you of the remaining times for entering PUK code. If the number of consecutive wrong inputs exceeds that allowed, your UIM card can’t be unlocked.
    2.“Help”
    1) About
    Display a dialog box showing information about the application (version, copyright, and etc.).
    2) Help File
    Display the browsing interface of “Help File”.
    3) Online Upgrading
    The client software supports manual and automatic online upgrading.
    The client will automatically check new versions on a regular basis. If there is a new version, you can choose whether or not to upgrade.
    If you select “Online Upgrading”, it will immediately check whether there is a new version. If there is one, you can choose whether or not to upgrade.
    After the process of downloading upgrade pack starts, you can cancel it manually. The features of new functions will take effect after the client is reset.
